Special Leave for Volunteering 

 

HKUST is comprised of staff full of talents and passion, the Special Leave for Volunteering is a chance where we celebrate the incredible power of giving back to our community.

We believe that volunteering not only benefits the causes we support but also enriches our lives by fostering wellness, building a sense of community, and strengthening our teams. Let's explore how you can make a meaningful impact through volunteering supported by our Special Leave policy.

 

Applying for Special Leave

 

Did you know that you are entitled to Special Leave for Volunteering, just like any other type of leave? We value your commitment to making a difference, all staff can take up to four working days of Special Leave every calendar year for your volunteering endeavors.

 

Requirements:

  1. The volunteering service should be based in Hong Kong and organized or officially recognized by HKUST.   

  2. Participation in Wellness / Diversity & Equal Opportunities initiatives organized by the university is highly encouraged as well. 

  3. The proposed volunteering service must not conflict with the core values and commitments of HKUST.   

  4. Within one month after participating in the volunteering service, we kindly ask you to complete a simple survey to share your valuable experience and insights gained through the volunteering service.
