HKUST Sustainable Smart Campus as a Living Lab Student Competition
Are there any areas on campus where you think implementing new technologies or innovative approaches could make it smarter and more sustainable? Join the Living Lab Student Competition and share your ideas!
As a group or individually, offer a unique and creative idea solving one of our pressing campus sustainability problems. The top five winning teams will receive a cash award of HK$2,000 each, or if you submit your idea under the special track of waste management, HK$4,000 each.

Global Sustainability Challenge
Uniting student innovators, distinguished mentors, and leading institutions around the world, this international competition calls for innovative, practical, and impactful solutions to real-world sustainability challenges.
This year’s GSC focuses on two themes:
- Sustainable Energy: Cleaner and more accessible energy solutions
- Adaptation & Resilience: Strengthening communities and systems to thrive in the face of environmental shifts
HKUST, alongside Stanford Doerr School of Sustainability and other educational institutions, are working together to educate, inspire, and mobilize youth worldwide to take on this planetary challenge.

Join the L’Occitane Impact Crafters 2025 challenge and co-create a circular business solution for their MEGA (#MakeEarthGreenAgain) store. The winning team will receive:
• A 6-week paid internship
• 2 weeks of retail campaign experience to bring your idea to life
